Health and Safety

Wilding Wood Management prides its company values on compliance with top health and safety standards and procedures. We have created a comprehensive health and safety documents specific to our line of business keeping our staff and customers safe at all times. Wilding Wood Managements health and safety documentation has been supplied to key government agencies that we work for on a regular basis achieving approved contractor status time and time again.

Risk Assessments

We have a generic risk assessment which includes all the activities that we have identified risks for. We use this to help us write risk assessments for each job, a site-specific risk assessment. We also write a daily risk assessment for each site. This takes into account any conditions that might have changed on a daily basis. Our Method Statement spells out exactly how we will perform each task. We follow the method statement for each job to ensure that it is carried out safely. We have a Safety Statement, which covers all our activities and shows exactly how we go about ensuring that out Health and Safety Standards are strictly adhered to.

Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE)

Our staff have access to all the latest Chainsaw protection and climbing equipment. This is regularly inspected and always replaced when worn.

Plant

Our plant is always equipped with full safety features and is regularly inspected and maintained.

Training

The majority of our staff have attended and passed a 2 day occupational First Aid Course. Staff are always trained for tasks they undertake.

Health & Safety Policy Statement

Wilding Wood Management Ltd is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for the safety and health of our employees and other persons in the workplace. Health and safety is our priority, and we expect everyone to share in our commitment to avoid all accidents and incidents which may cause personal injury, property damage or loss of any kind.

We will ensure the safety of employees by:

  • Providing and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Providing facilities for health and safety.
  • Ensuring all plant and equipment is safe.
  • Ensuring employees are not exposed to unmanaged or uncontrolled hazards.
  • Developing and implementing emergency and evacuation procedures.

To achieve this we will:

  • Systematically identify and control all hazards in our workplace.
  • Where there are significant hazards we will take all practicable steps to eliminate, isolate and or minimize these hazards to prevent any injury or damage.
  • Inform all employees of all these hazards and the hazard controls.
  • Ensure all employees are properly trained and supervised.
  • Inform all employees of emergency and evacuation procedures.
  • Record all incidents and accidents in our workplace, and take all practicable steps to prevent these events from occurring.
  • Carry out work according to guidelines set in the Approved Codes of Practice for Safety and Health in:
    • Tree work
    • Excavator operations
    • Forestry operations
    • Wilding Wood Management Ltd Limited will review the Health and Safety Policy annually.
